Heading toward Lake Merced this afternoon, I noticed a young Red-tailed Hawk being chased by Ravens near Ocean Beach. I stopped and spent a few eventful hours with the bird who eventually found ways to deal with the Ravens. It didn't catch anything while I was watching, but judging from the blood on its feet and the fact that the bird has reached its first birthday, I'd say it was doing just fine. |
