After the recent news regarding the MacArthur Fellowship, I spent a great deal of time outside reflecting on what it may all mean. While out there, as luck would have it, I had my camera and photographed a few things. Thanks to everyone for your patience. I should be able to post more regularly now. All the best, Walter.

Behind Keith Hansen's Gallery in Bolinas... a hummingbird bonanza.

In the Marina a Killdeer roams the water's edge.

Point Reyes Ravens scan the fog.

In the Marina, an Egret dabbles in late day light.

A Bluebird keeps a watchful eye on me at the Bolinas Sewer Ponds.

Such a nice moment, horizontal flight with an open bill.

In the Headlands, a beautiful exposed hive spilling from a Eucalyptus tree. The rains sent it to the ground and the bees have all gone.

Such a great place to wake up.

A young Harrier follows the contours of the hillside at Point Reyes.

Not as active in recent days, the resident lagoon superstars make a nice joint appearance.

The river otters leave very clear signs of their activity. Here a Brown Pelican carcass.

In other grisly news, a Heermann's Gull bill found in a Great Horned Owl pellet.

Great bird in great light.

This Egret, strangely, was only 3/5 the size of the previous one. A little mini Snowy.

Clearing the throat to make way for the next gopher.

The Golden Gate from Marin.

Lined up just right with 5 sailboats while keeping an eye on a circling Red-tailed Hawk.

The Lagoon in morning light.

A Cormorant departs in the black-and-white world lit by the morning sun through the mist.

A Great Horned Owl prepares for flight after a long day's rest.

An owl diving through the trees in the near-darkness.

A Great Horned Owl pair duets before departing to hunt as night falls.

Off into the night!

A roadside find.

Leaving with a tasty snack, a Bluebird relocates to the power lines above.

More soon.
