Harassed by a Scrub Jay at mid-day.

Face to face during a meal.

Investigating the flowers in Sutro Heights Park.

With a gopher in tow, this juvenile sets out for a rooftop on which to finish her meal.

Another method for transporting gophers - only safe to use when the gopher has already passed on.

Patch returned to Alta Plaza Park and spent some time wandering the grounds. For more on this urban hawk CLICK HERE

Cruising for earthworms in the rain.

Well and truly gripped. This is the first gopher I ever photographed this hawk catching. Luckily it all transpired on the hillside next to me.

One of my favorite moments - a close view of a bird on the hunt.

The best thing about San Francisco is being able to witness moments like this.

Finally touching down... the last photo in the series. Hope you enjoyed the RTH review. Thanks for looking.
