Birdy encounters have been sporadic over the past two busy weeks. I was able to take a few breaks and here are the more interesting moments.

Raven and Red-tail battle over Alta Plaza Park.

A late evening drive past Alta Plaza found both hawks on the cross, hunting for a pre-roost snack. The female snatched this gopher of the retaining wall near the sidewalk.

At Sea Ranch, this Scrub Jay figures out how to deal with a tethered peanut.

A Steller's Jay in a rare restful moment.

Back at Alta Plaza, a Goldfinch tries to stay balanced while feeding.

Hiding from the marauding males above, this Anna's feeds concealed in the shade.

Even at 1/4000 of a second, the wingtips still blur.

At the PFA lagoon, a drake dries off.

Even covered in water, the geese keep a sharp eye out.

Cruising the PFA lagoon in majestic style.
