PHONOSARANGI (aka Kirundu)

This instrument is inspired by an indian instrument called a Sarangi. It was completed in July of 2004. It has 3 main principal strings and 15 sympathetic strings all threaded through the same hardwood bridge. The white elements in the neck are curved pieces of plexiglass. This Phonoharp sits on your lap as you play the strings with a bow, changing the notes by varying the amount of pressure and the placement of your fingers on the strings.
